Done

That's right...done. Done with my scrapbook about my trip to Monterey, CA in July 2005. It was a beautiful trip and I'm pretty sure I took well over 100 photos and I didn't even scrap them all. Love that I gave myself that freedom. I realized it after hearing one of my scrapbook "idols" mention it. Now, if I could just convince Basil that we're done so he would lay down. He wears me out during the week. It's so hot by the time I get home that we can't stay out for more than 15 minutes at a time. So, in and out we go all evening long. Until about 8 o'clock, when he decides it's okay to rest now. This afternoon was particularly fun. I came home to find that they'd gotten in the garbage and eaten Kung Pow Beef. That did not sit well with Basil. Jenny is a whole different story. She can eat anything with her stomach of steel. She's also extremely low maintenance. I think I let her out for about 15 minutes a day and she'd still curl up next to me just wanting to be petted. Ah...the joy of dogs :) Again, I leave you with a picture of Panama City Beach from a recent work trip.

Not much...

to say and not much going on. Keep thinking about doing some scrapbooking or baking but I can't seem to get off my hinder. Guess I'm just trying to recouperate after all my travel. Yep, got home on Friday and was off again on Monday. Now I'm here until mid-Sept, I hope. Work remains busy and it's going to get busier. One of my staff resigned and I'm going to just fill her spot for the time being. The pups and I had fun at the dog park this weekend. It rained quite a bit so the lake was up. Jenny also mananged to get the bag of treats off the counter some time last night. You should see her belly - it's FAT :) She hasn't been moving much except to chase lizards. Which, by the way, have appeared in large numbers all of the sudden. Maybe it was the rain. I really like lizards and we have a few types here, very cool :) So, I need to go check on the laundry and make some cookies...I think ;) I leave you with a picture of a snake...a rat snake to be exact (not venomous)...so we're cool. My theory is that, if it can't hurt me, JT, or the dogs and it takes care of other yucky things - then I will remain calm.

ETA: I did actually scrap and bake cookies :) And now, I can't sleep.

Home

So good to be home. I had a quick change in travel plans sent me to D.C. on Monday for an overnight trip. Got home around 2pm and was at work around 10am. Busy, really busy. But it's still good to be home. I'm home until my trip to Milwaukee (I hope) so I'm planning on getting some things done and hopefully some scrapbooking. It's also time to get working on Christmas gifts :)

On the road...AGAIN

Yep, that's me. Since I was sick last week, I had to postpone my trip to Panama City. I'm headed out tomorrow after a couple hours of work. It's about a 5 hour drive so I stopped by Barnes & Noble to pick up a couple of AudioBooks. I landed a Patricia Cornwell novel and The Devil Wears Prada. So, between these two, I've got 8.5 hours covered :) I'm also going out to eat at Pineapple Willy's on the Beach. Then, I've got a full day of work, I just hope I'm ready.

Went for a bike ride tonight...the weather was finally cool enough. There's a little park with a few paved paths just up the road from us. I took the dogs there last night for a little walk. We met up with the park's resident dog. There's a man who lives on the park property and he lets King roam about. Fortunately, King is both kid and dog friendly, so he went on our walk with us. Cute, furry little guy, he's got to get hot out there.

In other news...I'm going to Wisconsin in mid-September. So excited, I haven't seen my friends or family in just about a year (since my wedding). I can't believe I'll have been married for a year on September 24th. JT doesn't want to exchange gifts, which is okay b/c we're saving for a house. But, we are going to go somewhere...maybe SeaWorld. JT wants to go scubadiving but, after spending my honeymoon learning to ski, I really don't want to spend my anniversary learning to dive. Besides, it scares me...the whole mask on my face, tight suit, dark water thing is a bit much for me ;)

Okay, that's it from me and my little world...I'm off to take a shower and head to bed :)

Time to Think

Well, I'm still not over this sinus infection. It took me out of work for two days this week and while the antibiotic has taken its tole on my body, it barely seems to have touched the infection. Ah well, at least I was able to go to work today. Feels good to be a functioning human being.

So, while I was spending time in bed at home, I started watching reruns of 7th Heaven. This part happened to be about their oldest daughter Mary, who is spiraling out of control. I've been there...been the spinning child who just can't seem to get it together or even acknowledge that there is something wrong. It was like a disassociative episode. Fortunately, like the show, my parents came and pulled me back and got me help. I cried more than once watching the episodes, especially when I think about my parents and what they were going through. I don't think I ever really thanked them properly but I think they know how grateful I am. It's because of them that I got back on track...got my Bachelor's AND my Master's and have gone on to be a strong, healthy woman. So, thank you!

On a happy note, I found some puppy pictures of Basil while I was sick and decided to scan them in. The quality isn't great but they're all I have so I love them. I can't believe he turned 3 on August 1st.

In other exciting news...I'm going to Wisconsin for a long weekend in September. My friend is getting married :)

I'm back and other thoughts (may be TMI)

I'm back from San Antonio. It was a successful trip and I had some great Mexican food. I'm home now for a few days then off to Panama City. And, I'm feeling a bit crappy, like I have a small (very small) bug...something in my chest. Anyway, I took the dogs to the park yesterday but couldn't make it today. JT, wonderful man that he is, took them this morning. I'm so glad there are two of us. So, I don't have anything interesting report, just wanted to update a bit. I think I'm going to lay down and watch a movie :)

In other news...not pregnant, even though I was 2 weeks late. I never thought I would get my hopes up every month and it doesn't help that I don't seem regular. Well, it's time to get a little more serious...temperature charting and such, I mean. I'm also heading to Weight Watchers. I'm sure my extra weight isn't helping although, I can't get too frustrated b/c we've pretty much just been winging it :) I just don't want to be this heavy anymore. I'm going to start with small goals and eventually it will all work out. So, I'm putting this all out in the universe...I'm ready to begin losing weight, and I'm welcoming a new baby to our family.

Hittin' the Road

Yep, I'm heading out again. I've been home for over a month now so I can't complain too much. I'm headed to San Antonio to give training and I'll be there the rest of the week. Then next week, Panama City, FL for an overnighter. Then I get a week "off". Finally, I'm off to D.C. for an overnighter. Then I should (hopefully) slow down for another month. Mom might be taking a quick trip in there too...whew...guess I'll be busy. Not feeling great today but that's not exactly unusual before I travel :)
