Wow...

I knew I would be busy when I took this new position but man, it's just crazy! That, accompanied with unpacking, has made me very tired. How do people with children do it? Guess I'll find out someday :) Really nothing much new. Just working hard, dogs are well, JT is well. I am taking a 5 hour drive tomorrow to Panama City for work. Then, next week I'm headed to D.C. for my SPHR exam and the SHRM Conference...it should be fun. I'm freaking out about this exam and whether I will pass it. I never should have told anyone I was going to take it or I should have waited until December. Oh well, it is what it is and I'll do the best I can.

We had our first tropical storm hit landfall sometime during the night last night. It didn't really it here but the rain and winds did. Made for a fun commute this morning. By this afternoon, the sund was out. It's been windy and a few branches are down but nothing major. I've decided that I would feel better if we had our hurricane preparedness stuff all together. We'll get there, hopefully before a major storm.

Well, I'm headed to bed early...night!

Alligator Farm

In an attempt to get over my somewhat irrational fear of alligators, JT and I went to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine today. I was even brave enough to watch the alligator feeding that took place shortly after we arrived. It didn't really take us too long to get through the park but it was still fun. And I really didn't get the education I was looking for so I'll have to do a bit more research.

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the U.S. - very quaint and touristy...similar to Savannah. Funny, I really had never visited many different places until I moved to VA and started working with my company. Now, I've had the chance to see a ton of different things. So much so that I can even compare cities :)

Our "stuff" comes in two days, only two more days on the AeroBed! Although, I'm grateful to have what I do have, I'll be really happy when all my creature comforts arrive and get unloaded.

I'm off to find a chinese restaurant for dinner. Yum!

Where do I start?

Well, we made it safely to Florida but our stuff still hasn't made it. It's making for interesting living conditions as we sleep, sit and eat on an AeroBed. It's kind of like camping :) Yeah, that's what I tell myself anyway but really, it kinda sucks.

The house is nice and it has a big yard with a pond in front. I am assured that the pond is free of gators and that there is no way for them to get in. I'm just gonna go with that or my imagination runs away with me. All of the sudden, I'm picturing a huge gator who comes out at night, just waiting for us. In my mind, he runs up to me in the garage...that is highly unlikely so I just need to get over it. I'm hoping to go to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine tomorrow. I think a little knowledge is exactly what I need.

Have I ever mentioned that I love lizards? I think they're cool. The pic above is a lizard that was in our garage and had just escaped Jenny's grasp. They start out bright green but change colors to match its background. We've even had one in the house.

We found a fabulous dog park which both Basil and Jenny love. It's the nicest one we've been to. The pic of me and the dogs was taken at the ocean...Basil loves it, Jenny really doesn't. She'll have to get over that b/c I plan on spending lots of time there.

Well, I'm off to the grocery store, scrapbook store, and dairy queen...for a new monster cookie blizzard.
